Welcome to the Laneway! We are thrilled to have you here. We offer a three bedroom home with large bright studios and a partially finished basement for larger projects. The colonial saltbox style home, is nestled among rolling farmer's fields and lakes of Ennismore, Ontario. Just a short walk to the hamlet, where the historic family General store can provide basic grocery and household amenities, a community hub and a party every once in a while. The residency will host regular dinners, to provide an opportunity for shared experiences and artistic discussion.
If the desire to expand your creativity arises, Laneway Residency has seasonal opportunities to explore the process of making maple syrup, cultivate a vegetable garden, soap making, canning and preserving. You can also enjoy the back porch concert series and camp fires offered during the summer months. If a break is needed the beaches and waterways of Kawartha Lakes are at your finger tips or simply explore the area on bike, snowshoe or by ski. The nearby Peterborough area offers free summer concerts, weekly farmers' markets, artist talks, openings and monthly art crawls at various art centres throughout the area. We are happy to connect you with opportunities Laneway Residency and Kawartha Lakes area has to offer.
We have three private bedrooms with plenty of natural light. Each room houses a cozy double bed, cotton sheets and down duvet along with a writing table and chair. The large country kitchen with a breakfast nook has all the amenities and provides space for creating nourishing meals.
During the winter months you can cozy up to a roaring fire while reading books from our art library. With a piano, guitar and plenty of maracas, musical experimentation is encouraged and welcomed. The extended deck and swinging couch provide a relaxing and meditative space. We are excited to share this space with you.
